In the Williston Basin of North Dakota, Carlson McCain provided civil engineering and environmental consulting services to construct the Smoky Butte Special Waste Landfill.

Professional services included preparing an application for a solid waste permit to build the landfill, permit drawings, technical specifications, engineering reports, construction quality assurance plan, hydrogeological site characterization, work plan, operations plan, waste acceptance plan, leachate management plan, closure, and post-closure care plan, emergency response plan, and financial assurance documents.

Carlson McCain coordinated the construction and CQA of the new landfill. We also managed its infrastructure and the groundwater investigation fieldwork throughout the process.
